Dr Michael Wong

Singapore Urologist

Dr Michael Wong is an established Singapore urologist who has received international recognition for his contributions to the field of urology. He currently serves as the Medical Director and Senior Consultant at the International Urology, Fertility and Gynaecology Centre.

Particularly skilled in endourology, Dr Wong is the Founder President of the Asian Society of Endourology, as well as the Founder and Chief Trainer of Singapore General Hospital’s Regional Endourology Fellowship Programme. He also became a member of the International Society of Endourology (USA)’s Board of Directors in 2006.

What is Urology?

Urology is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the male and female urinary system, which comprises the kidneys, bladder, ureter and urethra. It also addresses problems involving the male reproductive system, specifically the penis, testicles and prostate gland. Singapore urology includes:

  • Urologic Oncology, which involves diagnosing and treating cancer of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.
  • Male Infertility, which identifies and treats any health issues and risk factors on the part of the man’s fertility.
  • Urinary Tract Stones, which are hard masses that form in the urinary tract that can cause severe pain, infection or blockage of the urine flow.
  • Female Urology, which deals with the management of urinary tract disorders in women, such as incontinence and urinary tract infections.
